Are the White's pinpointers any good?

I KNOW the Garrett pro-pointer is great! I've used the Sunray & it was OK but a little cumbersome. How 'bout the White's pinpointer. One is supposed to come with my next machine but don't know if I should bargain it away & just get a Garrett??? :pulltab:

Bargain away......lol..............get the Garrett.............no comparison......... especially in the durability department. I use the Garrett.

"I KNOW the Garrett pro-pointer is great!" You said it.

Thanks guy's! I guess I answered my own question! (Those darn things ain't cheap though!)

[size=large]if nothing else put one on lay-away with your dealer. more and more are doing that. the whites will have to do til you can afford the garrett.
until you can afford a Porche ya gotta drive the Chevy.

The way I look at it now, today after feeling the same way about the cost BEFORE I got mine??? Just bite the bullit and get one if you are for sure going to be a metal detectorist for any period of time at all. The Garretts was the turnaround for me. Great gizmos!

I was so disatisfied with the Bulleye that i was ashamed to sell it the garret is great and the pistol probe but the garret is built like a tank and the pistol probe can cause falsing unless your coil is moved out front and left I think you would do well with a geret it really is a good pinponter i would not mind getting another one

I bought a Bulleys 11 and gave it away with a detector I sold I have the Pro Pointer and would not use anythig eles now

[size=large]i should think you can bargain with your dealer. the cost differance isn't that great. the differance in probes is. also remember the garrett is the same freq. as or close to the mxt and the mxt will chatter when you use the garrett probe. i've used my garrett with my whites XLT and no problem. the xlt is 6.5 or so freq. amazing the things you learn in this hobby.

:thumbdown:well im kinda new around here but on this id have too say get a garret by far ive used the bullseye II it works but id use it for a back up any day was shocked tho it was nuthing as easy as a garret pro pinpointer you have too keep your finger on the button and tune it in i give the whites bullseye II :thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown: out of five........

Can't go wrong with the Garrett. Best customer service anywhere, period. detection[dot]com has them for $100.

IMHO I'd just put the Garrett on layaway with kellyco or someone. I think the Whites pro pointers are made in China, I've seen several by different manufacturers and they all bear a close resemblance in looks, feel, weight, and so on. But the Garretts have a solid non-toylike feel to them, I'd opt for one unless you can build your own, it isn't that hard to do, lots of plans on the internet, and it would save you a ton of $$$$. 73 Mike

I also own a Pro-pointer. Would not use anything else...unless they came out with a better pin-pointer.

Heck my first pinpointer was automax v4 it seemed like it was 2 foot long switched to the Garrett pro pointer now and gave the automax to my buddy to use for a walking cane!! LOL Go with the GARRETT!!! They are great!!! And seem indestructible!
