Any input would be greatly appreciated.I read an article by Jack Lange,an Australian fossicker, who stated that most Sovereigns made today are not a [ pure 100% automatic ground canceling machine ] He went on to state why in electronics language, which I had no idea what he was talking about...ANY TAKERS ON THIS TOPIC...

i have sovereign xs 2 - like 12years old and it is one of the best macines i've used for working the beach and damp sand.

about 50 days or so ago, i bought a new GT, last week i sold my excal. and expII

i may even buy another GT..................i have a fellow looking at my older sov. now.

please keep in mind i only hunt the water and damp sand, but for this zone the new GT seems to work much better than the old one and that is saying ALOT..............far superior to the expII on the beach for sure.

my 2 cents worth

Well I dont know about all that techno stuff.I dont even use the auto track.Heck even Minelab stated that if you know how to set up the machine manualy it will work better.
I also agree with Max..The Sov GT is the best machine on the east coast beaches.Sold all the other ones...no need for them.I now have 2 GT's and run the WOT.Seldom if ever get out hunted.Sweet machines.

well guys i just got back from 3 days of detecting the delaware beaches and i got to say the GT ran very very smooth. i used the sunray 12 coil, shoulder mounted the control box and used a patroit meter. i found alot of clad. it hit great on nickels, two toe rings, a few sinkers and leaders. the machine was just so excellent to run and with the control box on my shoulder i was able to detect for hours. i ran it mostly in auto sens. then started messing with the dials. great great great beach machine. might start looking into a used WOT coil.
