Are the CZ's prone to EMI and chatter like the F series

Been thinking about trying a CZ3D but wonder if they are as chatty as the F series.

I have never run into any issues with emi using any of the CZ'S I've used which I don't hunt on or near any of the big powerlines and I also have my cellphone on at all times and it don't bother it either.

CZs run quiet and smooth most of the time.
Most CZs ie the 3D have no need to run sensitivity above 5 .
You will gain little if any depth and can become chatty.

In my experience with a F75 LTD and a couple of CZs, the CZ platform is much more immune to EMI. With either one, you don't want to set the sensitivity too high. F75 will sound off on very tiny pieces of foil (pin head size or even a little smaller) and that can add to the chattering in some places. CZ will not see those very tiny targets. CZ tends to be a very quiet hunter in discriminate mode. Need to sweep a CZ slower than you would an F series (unless the F is in cache mode, then it likes a slow sweep). Learning iron well with the CZ is not hard but takes a little bit of time, and once you get it, you ID iron correctly nearly every time.

My CZ70 is about bullet proof when it comes to EMI. My F75 can get completely zonked out by EMI, and then it's game over. Not often, but it's always in the back of your mind when your hunting :stars:

When I was in HS 45 years ago, I worked at a go-cart track and we had governors on the engines to keep the speed manageable. It seems many MDs are made/set so they cannot max out sens and therefore run quiet at any setting. Many Fishers will run so hot they exceed the optimal range and you can get EMI at top range of the throttle. One needs to find a range (maybe 4 or 5 on most CZs) where it runs best- a sweet spot. The exception is in All Metal you can run a full 10 in many places (the beach, etc) and be okay. So the F75 gets knocked for being noisy because it way to powerful/sensitive to run petal to the metal (so to speak). I prefer being challenged to restrain myself and having the option to crank it up when the mood hits.

"NO"

Having said the above seems like the area and the ability of the operator they are able to limit the EMI of a F75 to tolerable limits and do well with them.

On the other hand improper ground balancing or perhaps a little extra sens. which some run at for that little extra can make a CZ a tad chatty but all in all usually quiet except for catching the edges of large deep targets as old technology but deep technology....
