Are beaches (salt or fresh) productive beyond, say, 5' deep?

I see a lot of hunters on the beaches wading in water at 4' and 5' deep. I haven't seen any using scuba or hookah (maybe I just missed'em.) So I'm wondering if the water too deep to wade in, say, 5' to 8' might not be very productive. Anybody got any experience they'll tell us about using diving gear off beaches ? (This may be asking a question the deeper water looters don't want to talk about) :)
Hey, if you don't want to go public, email me direct!
Thanks,

In my experience you wont have much luck go in over 5 to 6 feet of water remember no one plays or hang around to deep...
i had some good findings diving and detecting under some of the busy pier or in the marinas. then you may want to dive or maybe use a hookah (under the marinas you will find tools and fair amount of coins i had dive right at the marinas by the casino boat and had some casino chips and a good amount of change) in the pier especially after a good drinking stuper:cheers::stars:some drop money and jewelry
know maybe someone can tell you different is all depend how much the pier or the marina is use??
i hope this help

Salt water beaches are definitely productive beyond 5 feet water depth.
That is if the water level is measured on a day when the high and low tide is equal.
The weather, tide and sand movement makes it so.
