Are all the high tone chirps in iron falsing? Found a 39 merc today.

Not sure what the question is, but trashy areas frequently give mixed signals including high tones. I have dug alot of them and the high tones go away as I get closer to the target. Sometimes, two wrongs sound like a right until you seperate the wrongs, then they sound like the wrongs that they are. But I have dug some chirps in the midst of hot rocks and found a silver dime and I had to MAKE myself dig it because it was not very convincing. Sometimes the more subtle chirps are more likely to be a good target, compared to loud false iron hits, as long as it is consistant. Just think of it this way......How many people have detecting that area and passed over those iffy signals(if they could hear them at all) and left them for you to find. If you only dig good, loud, solid targets you won't find the really good stuff that is deaper. Congrats on the silver!

Hey Aarong81
Good Information, I like to here infield experences as they heip me learn when I run across the same type signals. Thanks Bob

Without hearing exactly what you're asking about it's difficult to give a definitive answer. From my own experience, I would suggest digging any time you hear a target that sounds strange or a bit off. They're usually trash, but you'll pick up a goody often enough to be worth the effort. If you dig, then at least you know.
