slow working machine's ( by that I mean you don't have to whip it around to get the depth). How does the SE compare to the GT for depth? Which one is more user freindly? Thanks Good hunting.

Gear Box; I have both. The Sov GT is better for me because with the meter it will help com for my poor hearing better. The SE is probally the faster of the two swinging speed wise, faster processor I think. They are both user friendly if you take the time to learn them they are simple after that it is just taking the time to use one. Depth wise I dont think if you learn either one they are going to out preform the other there ; both will find things deeper than you want to dig under perfect conditions and under worst conditions wont find things 3 inches? I do think the fer and con numbers on the Ex series are a waste they are kinda like not carved in stone. The GT will hit the number on the head more often and closer form my experience. The new coil for the SE pro is wonderful but you got to be able to hear good (I cant) for the full benifit. good seperation over the stock coil on the older models.
I do think from using them the Sov line is more durable machine also than the exp series. If your hard on things.
My 3 cents Id go with a sov and spend the dif on a couple accs like a small coil and probe. Sun ray probe on the GT will amaze you.
Good Luck

Thank's Grummpy, my hearing is also bad, but mostly in the high pitches, from working on jet's while in the Navy. That's interesting to know about the faster or slower machine. I f you have been following my post's you know i like slow. Maybe a meter would be good for me, for that reason. Also people mention the flutie sound the minelab makes when over a target, is that like one note over the target or is it more like a bird singing several notes? Some of what I ask may sound ridiculse but when you've only owned a White's I want to be prepared when I go to the dealer. Thank's and good hunting.

The explorer has a faster reset between targets than the sov. the musketeer advantage has very fast recovery time, much faster than either the fbs or bbs detectors. you might look into that one.
