i had one that i traded away that had the 10 inch coil awesome on the beach looking for suggestions on a small coil for trashy areas any suggestions and iam trying to justify the patriot meter any one here use one

Depending on how bad the trash is where you want to hunt. If it is a real serious trash problem the S-5 of Sun Rays will be the way to go, but if it is moderate trash the Sun Ray S-8 works real good for most and has the better depth to it. I have never tried the 8 inch Tornado coil for trashy sites and maybe some one has and can comment on it.
On the meter the best is not being made any more and that was the Sun Ray DTI 3 meter, the Night Hawk also seems to be a decent meter, the stock one also with the 180 mods seems to also work good. I had the Patriot for a while myself, but sold it as i wasn't able to ID my targets like the 180 meters and felt the meter was kind of big and heavy too. I like the back light it has and the automatic calibration controls on the Patriot. It all comes down to what you preferre and how well you know it.

hi rick, how about the sunray dti-2 meter. im really considering buying that sovereign 2a pro i told you about cause it did have the sunray meter on it plus a brand new wot coil,a 10" coil and a 8"coin search coil all on their own shafts and brand new sunray hip mount bag and i could sell the control box and the sunray s-1 probe and upper shaft and come out even. will see.

The DTI 2 meter is also a good one, but don't have the back light plus it still has a V Clip to fit on top of the S1 probe box, or the shaft.
One thing on a DTI 2 meter is if it is a older one or the new one, the older one had a nylon shaft for the calibration control and been noted to have a problem. The later one and the one that have had the problem and repaired have the metal control shaft and very heavy duty.
