Anything wrong with pre-sets in my case?

Hi,

I can tell by some of the posts that many people like to change the settings away from the pre-sets. I get it that this happens because those who have significant detecting experience can tell when their detectors are not giving them the very best performance in certain conditions.

I know that on my XLT, I did increase both the AC and DC Sensitivity to get better depth.

My question is, on the Vision with its up-to-date technology, and considering I hunt less than an hour from where the Vision is made (if that makes any difference), shouldn't I presume that the pre-sets are probably right, or do some of you have ideas on improving the existing settings right from the get-go?

Thanks for any help.

Mike

The presets are set a little conservatively for most programs. You might want to try the Hi-Pro program or the mixed mode pro - they are a bit more aggressive but they were done here (well, I know the hi-pro program was done here, Carl may have set up his mixed-mode pro when he was in NC, but I'm thinking it was here too).

Thanks, ak. When I get my Vision I think I'll have a lot of fun just learning what it will and will not do in each of the programs.

Without presets, a newbie may be so lost on where to start. I look at them as a starting point, then the tweaks can come in to each individual needs/wants.
I was reading about the use of Mix Mode Pro - an interesting mode I want to soon try.

The stock Hi-Pro is my program of choice. I was used to a pumped up DFX program of my choice and so far I have made few changes to the factory Hi-Pro. Great depth and target ID. I will know more as I get the time to use the Vision more, but for now it's the Hi-Pro.

One thing for sure the Pre - set Programs are stronger than the DFX pre sets ......... While Park hunting I'M having to double plug all my targets with just the stock pre-sets..... might have to turn the Pre-sets down as all the recently lost Jewelry Loot is never deeper than 3-4 inch's at the Parks.
