Anyone with a MXT with the Tone ID Mod,,,

Might want to read these links might help may give you a led the first is about idx the second is about mxt http://www.findmall.com/read.php?31,948050,948328#msg-948328 http://www.findmall.com/read.php?25,1100386,1101564#msg-1101564

Have one out for the mode now should have it back in Feb.

I got a guy that mods the MXT , Boosts the sens and puts a tone control on it. It makes a HUGE difference, the tone control is 2 levels and on both you have a full range of low 2 hi. The cool thing is that it does not invade the circuit board just jumps diodes.

Can someone tell me just how this mod is suppose to help. Does it give you better discrimination, more depth what?

I like Tone I D over a single tone.
From what little I have read, there is someone doing the Tone I D Mod for the MXT.
I think Daniel, last post in the thread, has sent his off and has talked to the guy doing the Mod.
I was just trying to find out more about it.

I'm curious if any sensitivity or other mods exist for the M6? It wouldn't need the tone mod since it's already got more tones. Also curious if you can adjust the threshold on a pot inside to bring it up to hearing level instead of silent search. I don't have an M6 yet so I can't investigate further myself. I'm mainly planning on coin/ring hunting with it as my backup machine on days when I want the light friendly feel of a Whites. I hear the MXT/M6 get the same depth and for that reason and the fact that I don't prospect I'm opting for it over the MXT.

The mods on the MXT .

MXT adjustable Tone Control
The adjustable tone control raises or lowers the tone frequency on threshold and target tone you can increase the frequency by turning on the B tone switch.

MXT audio Boost
The A Boost is an audio boost when you turn it on, you will need to lower the threshold control this also raises the threshold tone frequency.
This helps you hear weak targets better.

MXT Sensitivity Boost
This gives about a 25% boost in sensitivity
The detector will overload sooner on large targets and high mineralized ground if it does just turn it off.
