Yeah...One thing, at least those folks are learning some skills and have some sort of focus or hobby that gets them motivated...do some of them slightly over do it? Who's to say...few years back, this got to be a very popular subject with the young guys I work with...they got all lathered up about learning how to survive, now, at least all of them can make a fire and handle a fishing pole or rifle..and has put that "Be Prepared" concept in their minds. It was a lot of fun seeing them wake up and pay attention to history and whats going on in the World, and also to see their new appreciation for electricity, airconditioning, guns, knives, reading the weather, etc...Its important a person stays aware of whats going on around them, and have a few skills to deal with things if need be.

I dont think the TV thing will matter if the scenarios come to pass...depending on the time of year and the weather. If nothing ever happens, at least these folks are a wealth of knowledge pertaining to all sorts of old timey Foxfire type skills long gone.
