anyone using the Sand Shark??

Yes.

Pretty much wet sand and in the water at salt water beaches use only.

I've hit a couple of beaches where the black sand was pretty bad so I'd venture into some of the dry area where the Sand Shark punches through the black sand that cuts down depth with the vlf detectors. The further up into the dry ya go the more hair pins, safety pins, nuts and bolts and pieces of broken up dune fencing are found with the Sand Shark that can be pretty much ignored with a VLF.

With the detector box clipped in on the back side of the upper part of the shaft, it balances so well that it makes the Sand Shark one of the easiest detectors to swing for longer periods that I've used.
