anyone using the detector pro pistol pointer?

I know it's not a CTX3030 question but I want to ask those of us that use the CTX about this probe. I have both the Minelab and Garrett probes and find that the Garrett is the better of the two but wonder if the detectorpro is better than the Garrett.
thanks

No the pistol probe SUCKS! Don't waste your money

Love my detectorpro! Been using them for years, check out their forum..

I hated that stupid thing, I mean hated it, it got deep but you couldn't turn the sensitivity down enough to where you had to touch the object to get a signal which made it hard to find the target... for that reason alone I like the pro find and pro pointer because they can be auto tuned in the hole!!

The one I like the most is also made by Detector Pro and is the Uni Probe that is built into the headphone, but they make a pocket Uni Probe too which is probably as good, but For me I would have to take the headphones off to hear. The Reg Uni Probe in the headphones has a replaceable cord that goes to the detector so I keep a extra cord with me and never used it yet. I have had mine for over 8 years now and it does well with great depth, but like the others it is a all metal probe.
I had a pistol Probe too and found out the tones was so high pitched that my bad hearing couldn't hear when it seen any metal.

I've got a brand new Pistol probe used it once, couldn't hear it with my bad war ears. and it doesn't vibrate, so that's a minus for me, I can't hear it, can't get a vibration which I might be able to live with, and I can't see the red light in the daytime. so it just sits in the box it came in looking pretty. so I guess I have a $175.00 decoration to look at. I'll sell it cheap. Gene

Is Detector Pro still making the pocket Uni Probe?---I thought they had stopped making them, it was a great product.

I've never heard of the pocket uni probe

Gary Storm (Detector Pro) made/produced both the headphone Uni Probe that Rick mentioned & the pocket Uni Probe.-----I had them both & of the two, I actually liked the pocket Uni probe the best, thought it was a pretty cool/effective little unit.---Had some trouble with the cable connection breaking loose but had Gary hard wire one & that took care of that problem.-----I was under the impression that both of those probes are out of production now though being replaced by the Pistol Probe--which I do not like AT ALL.

here is the link to them I found on Detector Pros web site.

I use the Vibra probe I think it's a 580.
As the CTX is water proof, it may be worthwhile testing this probe as it is water proof down to 100ft.
I only use a Detector pro Wader and an Explorer, the probe works fine with the Wader but a lot of interference if you get the Vibra close to the Explorer.
So it will be best to check if it is compatible with the CTX.

Just waterproof your pro pointer

Put some Gaffers tape over the speaker holes & you (almost) got it done!----I traced a quarter on the black gaffers tape & cut it out & applied it over the speaker holes--works & stays on great.----Don't like the tone no how, I just use the vibration on the Pro Pointer.
