Mark,
Check out this field test put together by George Shryock - a long time user of White's metal detectors. He tested the 4X6 DD shooter coil on the 6T.

Hi folks. My 4X6"DD Prizm Shooter arrived, along with lower rod unit, hardware and coil cover. I mounted the coil to the rod, slapped on the coil cover and hooked 'er up for a "quick look".
Folks - SHE's HOT !!!!!
I haven't started any kind of controlled or "formal" testing yet, but .... I ground balanced over my paved driveway (mineralization Heck), locked the Trac, notched out iron and nails and threw down a clad quarter, which the little shooter will nail at 9" in discriminate mode and a fair 10" in the All Metal mode. Remember now, this is the quarter layin' on the pavers !!!
I set the 6T up on my calibrated trash can, air balanced, locked the Trac, and got essentially the same results in air !!!
These depths are "max depth" tests that I do. That means that an experienced operator will be able to "hear" the signal in normal hunting conditions. I had the 6T at MAX sensitivity. I'm thinkin' that by the time I get some more discrimination cranked in and the sense knocked down a couple of notches that I'll be seein' something along the lines of 8", which is on par with the M6 sportin' a 4X6"DD shooter !!!
This little jewel is gonna clean up in tot lots, along sidewalks and in trashy areas. I'll do better when I get time, but I did want to get a "quick look" out to folks who have been waiting.
Our Metal Detecting Club has a booth at this year's EXPO here in The Villages. The guy who was working the booth with me today brought his Prizm IV with a stock coil and I brought the 6T with the new shooter. We had buried painted pennies and some "junk" jewelry for folks to find, and to facilitate our demos of the detecting hobby, pinpointers, etc, etc.
It quickly became clear that the 6T with the new shooter would "run circles" around the Prizm IV with the stock coil. I could center up and pop a penny while my buddy was still trying to center up !!!
The 6T with the new shooter coil, on a side by side test of a freshly dropped quarter, went DEEPER by about an inch than the Prizm IV with the stock coil. We swapped machines just to make sure that it wasn't "the operator". And by the way, Larry is no rank amateur. In fact, he is participating in the competition hunt in Daytona Beach.
Larry tried the new 6T / shooter hookup a couple of more times and w/o any prompting announced that "this is a great combination" !!!
I thought I'd post this "ad hoc test info" while it was still fresh in my mind. I hope it is of interest, especially to the Prizm user group.
This little coil is HOT !!! Da FoX
