Anyone using MX Sport underwater?

I am purchasing an MX Sport in April for underwater hunting off the beaches of Michigan. I was wondering if anyone has been using thier MX Sport underwater and how it's holding up? Any leaks, etc.?

Hi Dave,

Nope...

I had my 'test model' at the beach but as it was so soon into the tests I balked at dunking it!

But, I do feel it [ should hold up well ] as the control box is SOLID and not the clear membrane as fitted to many other plastic membrane visual detectors. (E Trac, Safari, CTX etc)
It's solid as their Surf PI models...

The "only" [ issue ] I have was the black membrane with buttons / graphics on etc was slightly bulbous at both L and R bottom edges....

Production should have quality checked it to be perfectly flat. (anyone else notice it?)

My MX Sport has been in the surf in Cartagena Colombia. No problem so far, just be sure to rinse it off really good. Will be posting gold and silver rings found soon. Did not have water proof head phones so I only went waste deep. Head phones and concentric water proof coil on oder so we will see how that goes.

Well the software found a 6.6 gram silver 925 ring and a 7.6 gram 14 k wedding band in the surf knee to waste deep water. Was only able to get the sensitivity up to 4 or 5 before it falsed. I!m sure if I notice any problem White's will correct it. Their service is first rate.

Let me tell you about whites service department... I purchased the Vision V3 when it first came out. I was having some trouble with it I made a post on here on finds treasure, one of the whites service guys seen my post... needless to say I had an out-of-state trip planned...To help me out he sent me out the control unit less coil and shaft.. he told me just to mail my unit when I got back in the States. If that's not service what is!! whites service made sure I didn't miss my trip. We talking about a $1,800 dollars they just mailed out and waited for me to mail mine back in.... any other detector brands would have had me send my Unit in for service I surely would have missed my trip.......NOT WHITES...Top of the line all the way...
