Anyone using 5" round Excelerator DD coil?

Reggie

New member
I have used the White's 5.3" coil with some success, and I do like it, but I want a coil to have more separation and a positive signal even when a coin and iron/liftab are superimposed, one over the other. Any good or bad comments on this excelerator (#134-5W)? Any other experience? Thanks.

Yes. I'm glad you asked. Since no one else responded I did the search of this site (I guess this subject has been addressed too much for anyone to respond again) to learn that lots of people have responded with positive comments: I found NO negative comments, though I could have missed something. I have been using this little coil for coinhunting in trash areas and highly mineralized soil, and it's the best I have for that purpose. I also like the stock 5.3 and 9,5 Whites factory coils for larger areas without as much trash, but the 5" excelerator is great for picking between the trash. I do find that it generally overstates the depth of the coin sized objects by an inch or two, but it locks on and pinpoints very, very well. Try it. You'll like it.
