Anyone used Black Widow phones???

They are 150 ohm impedance and would work well with the likes of the Infinium. They have individual volume controls on each headphone and also have a sound limiter cct, so no reason why they should not be good value. No good for music though due to narrow frequency response curve.

Just an opinion; I have not used these HPs

I use them with my VLF units ( CZ, DFX, etc.). They are very well made, a bit bigger than most, the dilimeter and volume features are great, but the best thing about them is, you don't hear ANYTHING from the outside. That could be bad if you are hunting in the woods with snakes, but since I use them most exclusively on the beach, they keep out all the wind and wave noises.

I like them, but I don't wear them in the Summer months...they get too hot since they are black and a bit on the bulky side.

Thanks, Fishers Ghost and therover. I'll be working with the Blackwidow hps and the LS and report back. The unit still turns off some times switching ground bal, found others have had this problem, our forum.

This problem can be caused by a faulty mode switch, faulty or flat batteries, bad contact between each battery in the pack.
My infinium used to not switch on at random occasions but I have not had this problem since I went back to using 2300mah NiMh instead of the 2800mah, also has not happened with duracell alkalines. I also found that the spring contacts in the battery holder can become squashed causing some of the convolutons of the contact spring to lock together resulting in intermittant contact between the batteries.
Also when recharging 2800mah NiMh with the standard Infinium charger the 2800mah put a high load on the charger causing it to deliver a higher than normal charge current which causes the batteries to overheat. In the case of one of my battery packs, it caused the spring contacts to overheat and melt into the end of the battery holder which resulted in noisy and intermittant operation of my detector.
Now I recharge my batteries with a much higher quality charger and have not had any further problems.

OK got to use the Black Widow phones today with the 8" coil at the beach, boy it works great. Helped my hearing and no extra sounds. It's best the LS has worked, ground bal., freq. tuned, wire wound tight, slow sweep. First hit was dime at 6-7 inches at waters edge, low tide and loud. I did'nt realize until I got home that I had'nt heard the waves this time. Very happppy:)
Thanks again for all the help eveyone

Have not had the LS turn off when turning the ground Bal. switch---strange, I'll take it, working great at the beach today. Dime, penny's, toy car, bobby pins and trash. I'm trying to use reverse disc. with some success.

How are you getting the headphones to work with the Infinium?

Garrett makes a headphone adapter which can be used with the Infinium LS, Sea Hunter MKII or AT Pro.

It is, however, not for submerged use. I think some guys might splice their headphone cables for underwater use, but I don't know how to do that.

My wife bought me an after market headphone adapter a couple years ago that works great for the Infinium. I think it was made by Reidman? I don't know if he makes them anymore. I connect it to a little IPOD speaker when I'm in bear country, so I don't have to have headphones on my head.:garrett::detecting:

Happy Hunting!:)

Wow garret make's a adapter this must have come out with the AT PRo.I want one!!! Any canadian dealers out there with them?
