ANyone use the F4 for prospecting?

Reading an ad for the F4 it listed its capabilities as a prospecting machine. I'm skeptical.
Has anyone any info on this?

Robert

Hi Robert,

I have plans to do some prospecting with my F4. I have some sample gold pieces and at turn-on sensitivity level it picks up a 0.15 gram at about an inch or so. A smaller piece of 0.1 gram doesn't register.

SO...perhaps not the the best choice for prospecting but it works. I've got panning experience and I recognize and have had a fair amount of success finding at least "some" gold without the detector.

In my beach and dirt hunting I've found a lot of different things from lead to silver. I average about one ring a week and a bunch of other "things" working about 5 days a week one hour a day. It found me my first (and only) silver coin, '52 Roosevelt and about 3 wheats. I don't really hunt old sites enough but I am doing the research to improve that.

Thanks. I suspected that this was probably the case. I know its possible to pick up a nugget or two with the Ace but
small stuff is out.
Regards
Robert

Bumping up an old topic, but had a topic related question.

What mode would you guys use for gold prospecting, the all metal discrimination or straight all metal so you could ground balance ?
