Anyone use the Ace 250 on the beach?

If so, how well does it perform? Any chance of using it in wet sand, or is it just too unstable? Any advice on setup would be extremly helpful. I have never hunted beaches before, and looking for all the advice I can get. Thank you.

:usaflag:This past summer I did quite a bit of waterhunting with my Ace 250. Although I was taking a risk if I accidentally dropped it, it performed perfectly fine for the knee-deep detecting that I was doing. Found plenty of clad...a buffalo nickel, wheat pennies and a few rings. I could'nt tell you how it works in salt water/sand though, as I am at least 1800 miles away from the nearest ocean. Good luck !

It works fine at the beach. Dry sand run it as hot as you want. Wet sand you'll have to turn down the sensitivity to 2 or three bars. It will still pick out targets with no problem. Just make sure the signal stays in the same spot. If it moves it's a false signal.

I've used my 250 at Myrtle beach several times, the closer I got to the wet sand and salt water the more false readings I got, turning down the sensitivity didn't really help either. Keep in the dry stuff and it will work just great!
