Anyone use NAPA SIL-GLYDE on excal battery contacts?

I found an old tube of this napa product and it is weatherproof and harmless to rubber and used in all kinds of applications including ignitions, weatherstriping and hood / door hinges. Two days ago I used my food grade scuba pro silicone on the contacts. Dang if I can't find it today - (getting old sucks). I'll hit the dive shop and get another tube when I can.
The excal is out of warranty, in fact it's going back for repairs because it only has audio in one earcup. The headphones were beat up. I got it this way off eBay but was seriously sick since July 3 through September and Never got to use it until last Tuesday so I didn't hammer on the seller. I did turn it on once while it was in the shipping carton but was too weak to lift it out and put the headphones on and swing. It made a beep and I put it away.
Anyone use this napa stuff before?

You should be fine, it is a Silicon Lube/grease. I've used many different kinds, Mcnett, Trident, Dow and even Oakey plumbers valve grease. Never had any problems. On your excalibur II, the headphones seem to be a Weak Point on many, most often it is one side is not working. I hope in the spring to have a fix for all of these new and old excalibur's, something anyone can install, and have a top of the line set of HeadPhones at a fair price.

Joe .... if your luck is like mine, ML will come out with a new Xcal and all your work will go down the tube. Seems everytime i go to get a new detector another one comes out. I for one look forward to any improvements you can make. Im hoping that new battery for the Xcal comes out i was told about.

Hey, thankyou for the reply. I'll be interested in what you come up with for a headphone fix / mod. With my water machines I don't attempt the mods myself, but the headphones are so poor it doesn't do the detector justice. My Sov GT with 90, 100 or 150 ohm headphones is so clear. Got to post up my first excal finds this week, I got gold & silver the first time out with it while wading chest deep.
Thank you!
