Anyone use CONDUCTIVE tones instead of FERROUS tones while running in all metal with iron mask on?

I know allot of people run in ferrous tones while running in all metal with their explorer SE. But I was wondering if anyone runs in Conductive tones. I want to know if I am missing out on anything other than the iron "Blatt" sounds that ferrous offers BY using conductive tones instead of ferrous tones? I figure if I have iron mask set at 22 it does a good job at getting rid of the iron so I don't see a need to hear it. I still want to hear the difference between a nickle a zinc and silver. It seems that I cant do that in ferrous tones. Anyone out their use conductive tones in all metal?

Thanks in advance
Jason

Jason, I use the XS and have almost always used conduct sounds. I have several reasons for this but one you alured to is being able to tell foil all the way up thru zincs without looking at the screen. I have ran wide open screen many times but it will mainly be where there is only a few or no signals. I could run wide open all the time but don't want to hear all that noise. Here is my setup: iron mask -15, program screen wide open.
This is how I use the setup, I have iron mask on and if there are some chirps to break thru the iron mask and they sound interesting enough to me then I press the iron mask button and activate the program(open screen), that way I can listen more carefully to the signal to determine if I want to dig it or keep walking. Then when I am done, I go back to the iron mask screen.

Well that might not be what you were asking so here is the short answer, yes, I do use conduct sounds with some iron mask applied and I can classify the target by tones, it works great.

And many Excell with either but I would not advise to switch back and forth as it may confuse you..Indeed conductive gives you a better idea of the target with out looking at the meter..
