Anyone still use the old Ulta GTA1000?

I have a chance to but a Ulta 1000 for a good price and wonder if I should buy a Ace 250 instead?
I use to have a GTA 1000PM and was anice detector, alot of bells and things. The Ulta about the same, suppose to be a little less depth but have tried both dont remember the 1000PM really being any great difference.
Anyhow I could pick up one for less than a Ace 250 but of coarse it is a older detector.
I am just wondering if the Ace 250 would be deeper because the GTA1000 has alot more to offer for the money. It does have the 8" crossfire loop and not the 6X9.
Thanks PAul

If I had to just get one, I would go with the 250. I have a 1000 ultra and a PM. Both are good machines and will get you some goodies, but the new technology in the 250 makes it a real coin-magnet and pretty hot on the gold too. It will hold its own as far as depth is concerned. I find myself grabbing the 250 most of the time as it's lighter and just plain fun to use. Either way you are getting a Garrett and that's a good thing!!

Although the 1000 is a good, old, detector, the key word is "old." The 250 has the latest technology and is a lot lighter and handier to use. You can pick up a 250 discounted for $199 and there are a few for sale on the classifieds for less, and you might check Ebay.
