Several years ago, a friend and I took several of my gold rings and several of his gold rings. Using the Ace 250 in coin mode, adding one more segment to the left of the nickel segment for small 10 K gold rings. We had 65 gold rings of all sizes found mostly in the water. Air test only, we got 55 of the 65 gold rings. Most were small ladies rings which read in the foil range. Some in the nickel range. Then some in the pull tab range. Most were in the foil-nickel range. But the bigger heaverier gold rings were in the pull tab range. But after all who wears the most rings..Women.So the most lost are Women's rings. Just to say all gold rings are not in the pull tab range. When I am detecting in a really pull tab infested site, I mostly look only in the foil, nickel range. I have found well over a hundred gold rings. One was valued for $2000.00. But most were not something to write home about except they were gold rings.. Just my 2 cents.....Jack
