Anyone relic hunt with the GT?

John (Ma)

New member
I see the GT does well at the beach. There is little about the GT inland. Anyone have experience or knowledge of how well this detector performs in fields and woods? That would be my primary use or should I be looking at a different detector? Thanks

Copy and paste this in your browser, It should provide an answer.

I did not see any info on the GT, only relic pictures not specific to any one detector. Thanks

If it's a non-iron relic you're after then it'll do great. I'm finding some really interesting items in spots I've pounded with other machines. If you want the iron stuff as well you'd have to use all metal mode. I haven't tried that mode yet to give any opinion on how well it works, but with the ground tracking and such I would guess it would work great.

I have a Sovereign Elite and it works great. For relics no disc. Just dig, dig, dig.

David Keith at Dixie MD has relic hunted for years with the Sovereign and can tell you all about it. The GT is an awesome relic machine. In the woods where there isn't much trash but there are relics you can hunt in AM pinpoint with the sens maxed. You can swing much faster that way. When you get a target, switch to disc and wiggle.

The Sovereign gives a LOT of audio information and it is a very deep machine.

Give Dave a call. He is the mod on the relic forum.
