Anyone out there using the x-terra 305 ?

I was wondering about the depth of this detector and the learning curve. Can't find much out there on this detector. Would like to see a demo video. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the site! Check out the FAQFAQ at the top of the page. Very good information there, Beale.

I've had a 30, 50 and 70. To me there really wasn't a learning curve. About as simple to operate as a toothpick. The only thing that I can remember that gave me a little trouble on the 70 was remembering how to enter the beach mode. That's when I read the manual. Been leaning toward the 305 myself. Now it has everything a coin and jewelry hunter really needs.

It has to be a great machine. Because I just received mine last week. Been reading the manual and getting comfortable with the control panel.
The video on FaxFax is very helpful.
The only thing now it's called winter fun.
Stay in the house and play, air test, and read about those who are lucky to get out.
So far I love it.

Happy Hunting

Ahh.. yes.. ok.. thanks.

btw: i'm looked at the FAQFAQ section.. this first posting has a Video titled section, but not links or anything under the terra brands. Is it my browser, or just old post with invalid links removed?

You'll love it. I had the X-terra 30 for over three years and found it to be the easiest detector to learn (I've had 9). It's even easier than the Ace to learn. The depth is about the same as the X-terra 70. I upgraded to the 70 so that I could gold hunt. Found that I'm not real interested in that, so if I ever lost my 70, I'd replace it with the 305.

I like to use the 6" or 10.5"HF coils. I really enjoy the disc segments
and tones. I hunt in all metal, then select a program mode to check the target.
#1 rejects everything except 12 and 36-44.
#2 rejects everything except -4, 8-16, 32-44.
When I get an interesting hit in AM, I use the programs to listen for and id deep iron roll off, corroded zincs, tabs and 1/2 beaver tails.
If #1 sounds odd or incomplete then #2 will help tell the tale.
