Anyone Notice this about First Texas Products????

Well First Texas has been repackageing their products for other companies for a long long time! In fact I think they might be haveing some fun with the industry but I do not know for sure. Anyone notice that the Fisher Digital line F2,F5,F70,F75 and Teknetics T2 and the Titan 3300XD and the Discoery 3300 and maybe some others have very simalar set of features and simalar packageing. The real difference is in the houseing and display interface. So anyone want to guess about how simalar the electronics are inside these units? SImalar design maybe the same board used in more then one model with sligtly different firm ware and display panel etc???????? Would that not be a hoot to find out that these units either had the same PCB's in them and just different firm ware or close tot he same PCB with mostly a change in Firm ware. I mean it is easy to repackage a product. Add a line of code here delete a line of code their use the same PCB and either delete some componets for one mode add some for another or use higher out put componets for say the T2 and F75 and use the exact same board with lower grade componets for the cheaper units etc..... It is not like this has not been in done with machines and electronics. General Motors has done this with vechiles for a long time. How easy is it to use your lower priced line up for product testing and then once all the bugs are fixed repackage it in a brand that you bought just for it's "Premium Name" ie Fisher and Teknetics!!!! Slowly phase out the origanal line of products that made those companies famious. Now they have two premium lines Fisher and Teknetics and they still have all the low level and mid range stuff that they had with Bounty Hunter and all the other contracts like with Radio Shack and Kellyco etc....

Really how many companies can their be that make metal detectors???? I am sure it is like antifreeze their is only something like three comapnies in the USA that make all the Antifreeze that is made int he USA and is not imported. They make it for all those name brands you see on the labels etc......Same thing for oil filters their is one Company in the usa Champion Lab's that makes 70% or the brands you see on the shelfs. In fact the design they use for their oil filtewrs is the same for their $20 filters as it is for their $2.50 filter. The only material that changes is the compostion of the filtering media but the rest stays the same. So now you have to ask if that $1000 detector is really worth $1000 or could you have gotten it for $299 or $399 in a slightly different package? Since the Industry is so shady any ways in that it does not do or have any type of Industry Standards for testing and reporting performance how would we know! If I had the money I would buy a T2,F70,F75and Titan 3300XD and take them apart and take photo's of the boards and look for simalar componets and simalar manufactureing markings etc......I just get a sneaky feeling about FTP doing a repackage and firmware change to market the same machine in different markets in different price points!!!

I wondered the same thing about the F75 and the T2. I was assured that the brains are different. ???

:teknetics: you have to remember that:teknetics:already exsisted before :fisher:and:bounty:they were bought out by first texas.when :teknetics:was brought into first texas they had one of the best detectors THE T2 it was at this time that the fisher department copied the T2 control box and made the f-75 with more bells, and whistles .david johnson help built the T2 AND THE F-75.THE ORGINAL T2 WITH REVISION # 6 STILL HAS THE SAME CREW.CHECK WITH BILL LADD FOR THE REST OF THE STORY.

You know I am on to something though since FTP owns Fisher,Teknetics,BH<Discovery,Titan and many other shell brands that they could easily do what I am proposeing and get away with it! BH could never have charged $700-$1000 for anything it made no matter how good it was since the brand is associated with some low end junk. They needed the Fisher and Teknetics names. So from now on keep a close eye on them!

Ya all speakem greek to me  .....One never knows when they buy any product whether it has foreign component parts or are produced under a brand name with all kinds of different parts to make more money! The Toyota and others used to be made with great working parts and now they are being made with cheaper parts and are not the well-built cars they once were! God is the only One you can depend on for the absolute truth and He never fails or cheats! Give God the glory and not man! May His name, Jesus, be praised forever!

God Bless!
Betty

I'm glad you brought this up.maybe we should all be doing a little investigating on the detectors that we buy.some detector company's are known to stretch the truth as to what their product will do,i think they should be held at least the same standard as a used car dealer.
