Jim, you scared me! I thought the message header meant it might be you selling off your GT. :look:
No way Critter cold day in Hell before i sell mine off lol , am i seeing things ? why is that GT control box black that is the first one i seen like that , strange but no biggie i guess . Jim,

Yea, it does look black, don't it? Just the other day I was thinking of painting my GT control box black, since my custom shaft is and so is the Digisearch meter and all that. Think that would look pretty slick, but then again I'd have to yoke the guts out of the control box so the fumes didn't get in to the POTs and such. Then I was thinking I could shrink wrap it in monocoat (used to cover RC planes) in black. That stuff just goes on easy like with an iron at low heat, not hot enough to melt plastic if you set it right. That would do a great deal to seal up the seams in a rain, but then I figured better leave well enough alone here and not mess around. Another thought- foil based Mono or Econcoat coverings used in RC. If those are foil based silver colors that might help protect further from strong EMI, but I don't know if I'd want the attention of a big shiney box gleaming in the sun as I hunt.

I see that GT sold, and at a premium price, and at this time of year when usually used prices go down due to people selling off machines. The used prices of Sovereigns, in particular the Elite and GT, have always held high it seems, and I suspect they'll only continue to climb as the new units dry up at dealers now that Minelab stopped making the GT and SE Pro. Both machines I expect to go up in price used and get rather hard to find, and same deal with the 10" or 8" Tornados for the Sovereign/Excalibur that they discontinued.
