In the lobby of the Sun Trust Bank there is a small display of Gold and Silver Coins, military items pertaining to early life,1800, of the Fort Meade area. All items were found by the person who designed the CZ3D and were donated to the city...:clapping:

The one and only Thomas Dankowski, (a.k.a NASA Tom).

The unique feature regarding the CZ-3D is its ability to register ALL U.S. coins with a hi-tone. With the CZ-3D you can go into old areas and dig only hi-tones and still find nickels, trimes (3 cent peice) and other coins that would normally register as a mid tone

Aaron, that's including most American gold coins, correct?
It's a nice added feature to a stellar machine.
Detectorhead, if you get a chance to read NASA Toms article (on thr cz3d), you will see how it came to be....very interesting.

Yes all gold coins even the tiny $1 gold will register w a hi tone with the CZ 3D

Hi Aaron,

I understand the tones and never cared much for the changes made on the CZ3D preferring the older CZ units.
I am a big David Johnson fan the guy that invented and designed the CZ platform among many other platforms.

You are pretty much agreeing with my point that its still just a recalibration of target tones on an existing established detector design.
To me its like saying the guy that added the CD player to the car designed the car which is far from the case.
Give the guy that designed the car the credit and the guy that added the CD player an attaboy for his idea.
Dont give him credit for 'designing' it and shame on him IMHO if he tells everyone he did 'design' or 'invent' it without giving "full disclosure".

JMHO on the subject

You really need to USE the 3D to appreciate its "uniqueness" especially in a old site.
It is quite different than any of the other CZ's

On my 3D the $1 and $2.5 come in as hi-tones and now that you mention it, mine has been modified by NASA Tom, so on a regular 3D, I may be mistaken.....
