hi all! this is my first time on this forum and my first summer with my metal detector! i have a question , i tried the school across from my home and in a small area of the park i have been finding some items i believe go back to the 1800's . 1st thing i found was an 1848 large cent from usa (rough shape but it helps me determine the age of the other items) all though finding this was odd seeing as i live in ontario canada.
but anyway i found a few items like this little copper dude about an inch and a half tall it is solid but i cant find any info on it , its shape of the legs would suggest it would fit on a horse, next item is this copper ring with a blue stone (stone has faint surface cracks) and again i cant find anything about the ring either. i know these items maybe worthless but i think its cool that a park right by me that i see a half dozen other metal detectors out there still has these items to be found. any input would be great , i also found a blob of molten copper and what i think may be a blob of molten silver which suggests there may have been a fife here many years ago, i have now been all over this park and the only place i find the old stuff is a very small corner of the park
thanks guys!
