does this or any detector do well descrimnating out lead weights?
or are they distingt anough sounding to pick up with a obvious number or tone?

updates :poke: not for over 3 years.

sinkers seem to bounce around a bit on the screen and more so in sound but if in the water I would dig them anyway as the best disc is my eyes.

Updates?? Turns out that was more of a selling point when it was released. Their next update is likely to be in price.

Updates....

That is all.......

Yes, I totally agree and to put it a little more bluntly, It was all a big lie to sell the machine! Future Proofing? Huh! Oh well!

as i got older i got smarter...thenrecently it dawned on me...why would thoes pirates sell us something that worked when they are treashure hunters too?
detuned peices of junk.some slick engeneering too!
they pay beach punks to hit your gear with other teck on the beach.shorts out fuzed circutry.but dont make the machines inoperable.just bumped to never find jack sht.
but they came up with a new angle.gps!
now they can have your machine find the goodlys while never alerting you but telegraphs the locations to the pirates!doh!
shure wouldnt trust them as far as i could spit

You watch too many movies, that doesn't and CANT happen.

I bought a Explorer XS in 2000 a few months after it was released. It was plagued by the breaking clamp like everyone had to deal with. I never broke mine but it was always a worry and I would warm the plastic clamp before clamping the shaft. Everyone thought ML would recall them or fix the issue but it was never fixed. I'm sure the updates are the same issue, I love my CTX but I don't plan on ever seeing a update.

If anyone of even a slightly technical background is reading this, be assured that the laws of physics are still intact...
GPS won't work 10 INCHES under water, let alone 10 FEET.
GPS simply doesn't work underwater. Period. Regardless of the mfg.

BB, assuming you aren't trolling (big assumption), you might want to cut back a little on the 'sauce'.
Self medicating can be a bad thing.
