Anyone know if the audio output on an Excal is mono or stereo?

i use the sovereign and it is stereo. i've used a lot of detectors in over 30 years of hunting and i don't think i used one that was mono but there are probably some out there.

Sov/Xcal audio is strictly mono. There is only one single output for audio, as compared to true stereo.
The Xcal is hardwired, so it is irrelevant.
Older Sovs were wired for a mono output, while newer ones can use stereo phones with no mods. It is all in how the connector is wired for the phones.
Phones can be wired with both elements either in series or parallel and they still work as long as they are hooked up to the right place.
You always hear the same thing in both ears.

Not sure which is which, but on my Sovereign I have to have my headphones toggle one way, but if I use my MXT it is the other way like the Tesoros are and I believe the Fishers are too. Not sure which detectors are wired for stereo or which is mono, but do know the audio that comes though is the same in both ears, the only detector that is a real stereo on is the Nautilus as you can have differnt audio in each ear.
