Anyone know if an Outlaw can be upgraded to high tone chip

Does Tesoro have a up grade, this would make this machine outstanding.

While the Outlaw's tone isn't as high a the "high-tone" Cibola or Vaquero, or the old Bandido II microMAX, it is higher than the standard Vaquero/Cibola tone. I like the Outlaw's sound with my Killer B's headphones.

So you are saying there is an upgrade for the Outlaw so that it has a high tone for silver?

Nope; not what I said at all. ^_^

I'm saying that I like the Outlaw's tone with my Killer B's headphones, and that it already has a tone higher than the standard Vaquero and Cibola.

I am thinking about getting two pairs of the Killer B headphones. What model do you have? I am thinking about the Wasps....

I have the Wasp. I may pick up a regular pair as well, as I don't use the limiter feature of the Wasp. Colonial has the best prices I've seen on the Killer B's, but were out of the Wasp when I last looked.

Subscribed.
Curious to find if it can be modded.

Just got an email from Tesoro:

We at Tesoro applicate your interest with Tesoro Metal Detectors. As of now there has been no upgrades for the Outlaw. As for the design of the Outlaw, it does not allow a feature to have a tone change for higher conductive metals such as silver. Tesoro did make such a unit called the Golden uMax that has been out of production for many years.

Tesoro also made the Troy Shadow X2 that has a coin check. You could keep your discrimination low and press the coin check in which copper pennies to silver dollars would be accepted and any targets below the copper penny would be rejected.

I am sorry that I have not been much help for you and Outlaw. In the near future Tesoro will have a few new units upcoming.

Let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of any further service to you.

Kind Regards

DUN..DHAT...DAH....! (sound of mystery..) ^_^

We may get a new multitone Tesoro yet. Won't all the people paying $800 for a Golden feel silly?

Oh I thought you meant change the single tone to a higher frequency.
The high tone mod for the vaquero and cibola are still one tone, just higher.
I may have to call them to see if they can do a mod to just raise the pitch for the one tone.
