Anyone know anything about the Cooper River and the History? New Construction site.

There is a new construction site that just broke ground. I do not know if I can hunt it, I still cant get my meds filled,but thats another story. If any of you have any knowledge of the Eastcooper, or some call it east of the cooper. The River That divides Charleston from Mt. Pleasant. This site is about 1.5 miles from the water looks good, but have no clue as to what was there before, our history. Anybody know?
