Anyone know any tricks for unlocking wands?

Got one that is locked so solid that even boiing water would not expand the metal enough. I'm ready to try the car jack next--any ideas?

Happened to me... I carefully placed one end in a vice and I sprayed with WD-40 and slowly twisted it and it came apart.

The pole for the excaliber 800 I bought off ebay was really stuck when I received it and I tried everything to pull it apart. I could not budge it by force without destroying the pole. I was getting desperate too because the pole was so short that the coil didn't even reach the ground when swung. I finally tried pouring some dishwashing liquid and a little water down the tube and let it sit for a while. After the soapy liquid soaked in, the tubes came right apart with no trouble. The sand and salt can really cause a lock of the parts that can be almost impossible to remove. If there is metal to metal corrosion, this method will not work of course.

Good luck

I use a high pressure nozzle on the end of a garden hose and flush the the heck out of everything. Starting at the rear of the unit flush the inside of the tube with the open end pointing towards the ground and flush all of the sand and salt out. Then flush all around the locking collar front and rear until the unit frees up. Also do this after ever hunt and it will eliminate it freezing up again.
