Anyone interested in a stainless steel floating sifter?

I'm looking for 3 people who have the idea of creating a floating sifter with a piece of stainless mesh instead of the fragile hardware cloth in their sifter. Each piece will be 24" x 24" with 3/16's square holes in a weave metal cloth design. I used one like this 10 years ago, sold it and now that I'm back I want to do it again. It's expensive but if you ever penetrated your hardware cloth with a heavy scoop of debris like a Sun Spot as I did too many times, you can appreciate the quality of stainless mesh. I'll give you instructions and or pics when I create mine to show you how. Each 2x2 piece is $40 delivered or $65 for 2 pieces or $85 for 3.. Only 3 available Let me know soon.
PM me asap.

Hey landman,

Seems like overkill to me!

I've used all plastic for a lot of hours with no regrets and I can use my VibraProbe pin pointer with it too!

Costs next to nothing and is light weight and durable.

Check it out!

Regards,

I'm glad that works for you. Me with the volume of the sun spot scoop and the delicate nature of the galvenized hardware cloth stainless works.

Hey Landman, I make alot of these water seive's here is a picture of one of mine made of all pvc so you can scan your detector over it and find your target easily. Cost you about $25.00.

The scoop I use is just about as big, dumping bottom matrix or throwing scoop in doesn't bother my sifter and I can use my vibra probe to find the small algae covered targets quickly. I'm a fan of stainless, just not for this application for me.

You can get galvenized hardware cloth that will take it. I have made them. I made two stainless with plate stainless with 3/16 holes so as to not loss small gold items. The stainless will out last me. If you like I can send you photos.

Hey Kaptain: Good looking setup you have there. Looks just like I've been thinking of making. What did you use for the sifter insert? Where can I get one? What size inner tube did you use?

HH Denise

I'm ordering 4 pieces Monday and will create the sifter and will post the results.
