I will be spending a couple of days at the "1842 Inn" soon. The Inn is on College St. There are several parks in the area, one is about a block away on the corner of College and some other street that turns south, it looks like a small park with no ballfields or anything and it is downtownish. I printed a map but can't remember the name of the park right now. The river is just a few blocks away too and Oak Hill cemetary...
welI I guess I can go visit Duane and Berry and Elisabeth Reed. I'll tell then hello.
I saw both Duane and Berry in my time. Used to go see Berry when he played with the Roemans, Tommy Roe's band. They always started their show with the instrumental version of "Goldfinger", Berry was an awesome bassist then too. I saw the original Allmans in Albany, Ga just after the release of "The Allman Brothers Band".

We once pulled up beside Berry on his bike at a stop light in Macon. I was driving my VW hippie van, (think... "Up in Smoke"). It was in the year between Duane's death and his own. He was nice to us, not stuck-up acting like so many famous people in Rock'nRoll... but that was another time and place... seem's so long ago. Seem's like looking back on someone else's life now, i've changed so much since then.

Anyway... I didn't mean to ramble... (but i'm a Ramblin' Man and i've got Ramblin' on my mind)... Can anyone give me any pointers of where to go or not go? Is it OK to detect public parks in Macon or Bibb county? I will be packing my V3 and maybe E-TRAC or Tejon.

Thanks for the help!!

Julien
