:detecting: SWEET AS YEAH I HAVE THE INTERNATIONAL VERSION ITS MEANT FOR AUSTRALIAN CONDITIONS SO THEY HAVE SAID, DO YOU LIVE IN PERTH?

Im in NSW ..near Tamworth. I was told the same thing but have found the US version goes great. Had it all over the place incuding the goldfields. How does the international sound on our $1 and $2 coins. Just curious as looking at buying one

I heard that in Oz, you need to mount the control housing upside down to work properly, is that true?

well, we are standing up side down over here anyway so no adjustment needed, just have to wear heavy boots so we dont fall off, and gold being heavy doesnt sink into the ground.... it makes its way to the surface ...so detecting down under is a breez

Vanner. I'd stick with the US version. I spoke with Phil down at the Goldmining Centre and he pointed out that the International version has an adjustable iron range, only up to 42 though. Also, the high tone goes all the way down to 55. That's no good in my books as even pull tabs give off a high tone. I have played around with both versions (don't own one) and the tones behave the same. I like the fact that the US version gives a high tone on our goldies (separating them from the lower denomination coins).
Mick Evans.
