I was wondering if anyone uses a Minelab Elite Detector. I just purchased one and I was wondering what type of luck did you have with it. And is it a real hard detector to operate and could you give me pointers on what would make my learning experience trouble free, thanks.

iv got/ owned all of the Sovereign's..i now run a Elite with a S12 coil on the beach and love it! it will hit a dime @ 15" and gold about 12"...its a great detector, easy to use..i run the Sovereign's and my Excal's the same way.....Disc on but set at 0,and dig by the tones...notch 0, sen as high as land/beach will allow without falsing, volume where you like it,threshold just to where you can here it...band on 1..good luck.

Troy, take your time to learn the Elite.Even though these are older detectors they are still very competitive with most upper end units. The Sovereign is very versatil and has a million options with accessories and mods.HH Ron
