Anyone here us the XP G-Maxx 2?

I realize this is the XP Deus forum but, well, anyway:
If you do use the XP G-Maxx 2, what are your thoughts on this detector?
Where does one purchase it?
Where does one send it if it needs repaired?

Hello Tony,

I've read good reviews on the XP G-MAXX 2, never owned one but have owned the XP Gold Maxx Power.

The XP G-MAXX 2 is 4.6 kHz, The XP Gold MAXX Power is 18 kHz. Both excellent detectors and mainly used across the pond, for my type of hunting prefer the XP Gold Maxx Power because of the 18 kHz for smaller thinner coins such as tiny worn reales and 1/2 dimes. Auctally, My first outing with the XP Gold Maxx power El and I hunt turned up an 1849 1/2 dime followed with a reale on the second hunt same site. El was there when the reale surfaced, the 1/2 dime was two weeks earlier.

Keith Southern may have owned an XP G-MAXX 2, Tom from back east had one I believe. Both are terrific detectors, but I favor having an edge on smaller silver rather than depth. XP Gold Maxx Power is pretty deep, especially with a slight negative GB boy is it deep.

You can purchase one from across the pond, that's were I found mine. From a dealer, think it was Gary. Sold my unit last year. Tones are great, extremely sensitive to small targets.

Good luck, keep us posted if you find one.

Thanks Paul.
I'm always curious why people sell a detector if it does so well at finding the goods. Is it that the Gold Maxx Power, though great at finding small, thin coins is also great at finding
very small objects such as pieces of aluminum and so one has to dig a lot of things to find that elusive small gold chain or ring? Also, since it is extremely sensitive to small targets, does that mean
one is constantly digging small targets because they sound so good?
Did you find the Reale in California?
I found a half dime with my Minelab explorer once.

Congratulations with finding a 1/2 dime Tony, those are always a sight for sore eyes not too many of them surface.

Yes, Found the reale and 1/2 Dime in California with the GoldMaxx Power. The site was given up several other reales and gobs of flat buttons, Many Phoenix buttons and an extremely rare (N.Y.L) button. El and I have pulled so many mission era buttons from here we nick named the site Button Hill.

If one is looking for simplicity in a detector such as the XP GoldMaxx Power or XP G-Maxx, Any one of the two are great but if they have a Deus they still have access to these detectors with selecting one of the programs from a Deus.

GoldMaxx Power is very sensitive, Yes it responds to real smaller stuff pieces of aluminum and such. But that's what it needs to get the thinner coins such as worn reales and 1/2 dimes on edge. Same with the Deus, Loves the small stuff. If you're after gold chains and thin Gold jewelry, one needs to dig a lot of trash and iron. The tougher gold jewelry finds overlap into upper iron range, discriminating out upper iron range one is discriminating out some Gold chains and thinner gold jewelry.

Please keep us posted Tony with future hunt's, especially with gold jewelry it encourages others to press forward.

Congrats again on the 1/2 dine,
Paul
