with the explorer? I used to have an excal 1000 and found it to be great. Looking to buy a sovereign gt but I cannot find any deals on one.
So I've found an explorer se.

I really don't like visual and programmatic detectors, had all of the bells and whistles on the mxt, spectrum, etc... I've owned whites, detector pro,
nautilus, tesoro, fisher, excal, and x5. I love to 'hear' whats down there and not worry about if my 'program' is correct. I've owned around 15 detectors and
have been detecting since I was little (whites coinmaster circa 1970?).

Now at 52 and out of the loop for 4 or so years I'm just looking for a good relic and beach hunting machine. Can you tell what you've got by the sound
that the explorer gives? And one more question... what about ground balance? Manual, auto, or both.

thanks for any comments....
