Anyone having any luck with gold and the M6 recently?

Well ive had the M6 for about 6 months now and no luck on gold. As far as i know its supposed to be a good gold machine.
Any ideas? I dig all pull tabs foil nickels etc. Maybee its just the area im at. Im primeraly hunt jewlry and coin hunting.

I don't have an M6, I have a DXF but I can say that if you are digging pull tabs, foil and nickles you are in the gold zone. My first 14k ring I thought was junk before I dug it and was totally surprised when I saw it in my sand scoop. Another time my friend (who has a V3i) and I were comparing a signal before he dug it, we were both convinced it was a nickle, man were we surprised when he pulled out a 10k gold ring with diamonds. Depending on where you are hunting the time of year can make a big difference, I mostly beach hunt and this time of year is the slow season. As far as gold coins...I haven't had the pleasure of finding any yet so I can't help you there. Good luck and keep diggin those junk signals.

Trackerman, the reason you have not found any gold is you have not gone over any.Gold objects are not that common......don't blame the detector. Most detectors will find gold jewellry and the m6 is one of the good machines for this. The problem is that when we are told that a machine is hot on a certain object we buy the machine and then expect to go out and dig loads of the objects we bought the machine to find.....it just does not work like this.Stick with the m6 do your research and the jewellry will show in the end.......go out and buy another machine that you feel will get you the gold better and you will be back to square one.

I found a 14k necklace drop of the Madonna, last week with my M6. I also found more nickels than pennies or dimes. The M6 is a great jewelry machine, especiallly for gold.I like the 5.3 eclipse coil the best, but use the 6x10 and 950 for large open open spaces. For finding jewelry, i have had the best luck in high traffic soccer fields, volley ball courts, baseball fields, playgrounds (around swings and other equipment. I run the discrimination knob arrow on the s in the word nails if at all possible. Finding gold jewelry usually means digging some foil. Locations and discriminaton settings have a big say in the success of finding gold jewelry. You can pay more, but in my opinion for hunting dry inland jewelry the M6 has no peers. Happy hunting!

Thats good to know because i was starten to get worried about the M6 and its abilities. I have hunted the hell out of a few local parks in all fairness and cleaned them out pretty well. Oh well guess i gota find a new good park. I just put the 6 by 10 on it a few days ago it really pinpoints and seperates targets much better know than with the stock coil just lost a bit of deapth over the stock coil but i guess you cant have it all.
