Anyone have this problem with their F75...

While detecting this weekend I went to an area that I needed to change my settings on from the last area that I hunted. When I tried to adjust my settings the adjustment knob on the left wouldn't work, it just spinned without changing, both ways. I did a factory reset and had the same deal, couldn't change the settings a bit. I could scroll through the menus and everything else seemed to work fine but no luck on adjustments. I hunted for an hour in factory DE mode and took a break. After turning the unit off for a while I started it back up and it worked perfectly for about an hour then the same thing happened again. no adjusting, just spinning the knob without results. I went to get my backup detector and descided to try changing battries on a whim even though I had 3 full bars. After changing the battries and waiting a few minutes it worked again. Have any of you ever had this problem, I'd hate to have to send it back to Texas again right at the start of Relic season, but may have to. The only problem with that is when I send it back it will probably work correctly for them, just like a car does when you have a problem and it only does it for you. Loose board or wires? bad switch?. Any info would help. Thanks in advance....Jim

I would see how it works now with the new batteries in it, something when you have any kind of a problem the first thing to do is change the batteries and see the contact are good. On the battery meter it just checks the over all voltage and seen where many are not correct and if it has one bad cell it may show the battery is OK, but will not have enough current to run the detector. Even I have seen where some of the battery contact on one of the batteries isn't making a good contact and will give all kinds of a problem and when cleaned off it works just fine. Just try it with the new batteries and see what it will do now, if still have a problem it may have to go in, but I feel it will be OK now.

Although having 3 full bars, you could have had 1 or more dead or near dead cells that caused it to pull down
below the needed voltage. Hit PINPOINT and see how many bars you have while detecting a target to see if
the bars drop down under a working load.

I have taken a new set of Batteries out, installed them in my metal detector and one of the Eight batteries was a dead battery. Now I carry and battery tester and check each and every battery I install in my detector.
