If I make it another few weeks I will turn 50 years old next month.:drinking: At about this point in a mans life I have heard that some men begin to wrestle with their mortality and attempt by their actions to "turn back the clock"-(Maybe some of you guys who have already faced this could give me some advise on what to expect.:help:)

Although my hair is getting a little thin,I don

However, like you, I seem to have eliminated most of the vices. Detecting and diving are still my favourite two. Ouch stop
hitting me.... Okay dear you are number one!!! ] I gave my '63 Galaxie XL to my son for his 16th birthday. Luckily, with the price of fuel, he can afford it. I still have a couple more but I am going to give them away as well.

What I am looking for is a Morris 1000 [if you have seen Monty Python you will remember them as the 'killer cars' :)] woodie. That was my very first car so I guess that I am regressing in a slower way. And with the price of gas, maybe i could afford to drive it occasionally. :)

the age thing has really never bothered me much. I am dang proud to have made it to my present age and in October I will be 66. I have aches and pains but what the heck, that is what happens if you are lucky enough to make it.

Fifty didn't bother me at all and most of the really exciting things I have done were after I passed fifty. Enjoy it:super::super:

when he was out to visit Mike and i he acted more like a forty year old, just ask the girls at the Hotsprings and the gas station and, well all over the country.....Mike is still trying to smooth it over:surprised: they are still asking, hey when is that crazy Yank coming back?

i would tell what i did......but i better whisper :D Welcome to a fine time of your life, like the old guy said, 50 is nothing! Gosh you are younger than a blonde i know, and she is very shiny

I told a couple of ladies he was coming in October....The very next day, both of their houses were up for sale!!!:rofl:

i think the reason some people go through that second childhood thing is because they never lived it the first time around.they got married young, worked hard, raised children and never took time for themselves.now the kids are grown and they want their youth back,do all the fun stuff that young men do sometimes.sounds like you pretty much got that out of your system when you were younger so you shouldn't have a problem.i turned 54 in march and i find myself slowing down a bit.i've been a bit of a rounder all my days to this point.i could write a book if i could remember half of the stuff i've done,ha!when i turned 50 i started to get some gray in my mustache so i used just for men to darken it.that got to be too much work so i just let it go white now i'm told i resemble willie nelson, haha, could be worse, could look like keith richards. enjoy every day, cherish those you love and be thankfull you've lived this long.sports cars and young women are nice to look at but at my age i have the wisdom to recognize i couldn't handle the maintenence on either one.wisdom didn't come with age(age came alone this time)in my life peace came with age.i don't need a bigger house or a newer car, that's just stuff.my stuff is smaller and older but it's paid for.be at peace with who you are and what you've accomplished.
have a good birthday.ten years from now you'll wish you were 50!

I turn 50 in March, but I don't think I would look quite right in My Levi Super Bells or with hair down to my waist. Some days I wish I had my long hair back but then Carol reminds me of all the money we save when she buzzes me every Saturday night.

Happy Birthday to you ANYWAY!!!

Hey Arkie, are you still looking for that 63 Pontiac convertible? :nopity:

Lil Brother:)

I was working with an electrician and he asked me how old I was. I told him and he told me that if I dyed my hair I would look ten years younger. I looked at him and asked why in the world I would want to look ten years younger. I consider myself lucky that I made it this long!!

He told me that he dyed his hair and felt he looked young. I didn't say so but I figured he looked like an old man with dyed hair. I figured he should spend more time in the gym and less in the beauty parlor myself.

am kind of like the others, just still having fun. BUT.........at about 5:30 in the morning, on my fiftieth birthday............Johnboy and Virginia (his better half) showed up at my house. Of course, I still was asleep, and I heard all this commotion going on, on my deck at out our bedroom door. I am NOT a morning person, to say the least. I tossed and tumbled around for a minute thinking I was dreaming, cause I heard music. I finally stumbled to the door, Scott on my heels, and there sits Johnboy, on a stool he had brought, and Virginia smiling like a Jackass eating briars. He had his baritone horn playing, as Virginia sang "The Old Gray Mare Ain't What She Used To Be". Very funny, if you like dumbass brothers waking you up on your 50th birthday!! Sounds to me like it had been planned for a while, what do you think? Then of course, at my business, everyone had on black, streamers everywhere. Sign outside, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah!

Actually it was a pretty fun day! As far as hair and hair color? I think if you age gracefully and have fun, that's all that counts for the most part. However, gray hair looks nice on men, but women look a lot older. That's why God made good hairdressers!
