Found this item in an Old Ball Diamond last weekend. Don't have a clue what it is for but I thought it was a really neat find. This was about 12"-14" Deep when found. The back reads COMPLIMENTS OF I. COHIEN & CO. ELGIN, ILL. Item is 2-1/4" High and just over 1-5/8" Wide. Any info much appreciated. Thanks.[attachment 130021 UnknownItemFront.jpg][attachment 130022 UnknownItemBack.jpg]

I typed it into Yahoo. It lists several companies including I. E. Cohien & Co. I think it has something to do with performing troups. Looks like a money clip, but i've never seen one with a hinge.

I come up with Mostly Financial Firms when I Google it...makes more sense...

HH,

I tried typing it into the Address Search place and hit go and it came up with the name of Company that was used in the 30's and was an apparel shop. Thanks for the replies and Good Luck and HH to you.

by joe Jim...I think you hit the nail on the head...My Wife has one just like this style now that you mentioned that...

Yep that be it. Another interesting thing would be the fact that the compnay information would not be relevant to the item as the item was purchased enmasse and given away as a complimentary gift. You can search online this day and still find companies that make this type of item for such purposes.

Iconic Pond Fairy is interesting art as well..

I figured the side slots had something that went into them but never even thought about a small pencil. Makes the find more interesting now. Thanks for the info on this and Good Luck and HH to you all on your next hunts. :super:

This is very interesting although I can find nothing by searching the net. Are you sure it says Elgin IL It doesn't look like IL to me. I'd like to be able to find something on the net.

If you want to find something on it, don't use the Google Search. Try using the Address Search Browser and type in what the Notebook says on it and then you will come up with a little info on it. Thanks for the reply and Good Luck and HH to you.
