I live outside of Pittsburgh in coal country,so I guess I'm in some minerals.I have a 705,have had oter brands but always wanted a tesoro and within a few days I'm gonna post for one.I Like finding coins but I'd rather have jewelry.I was looking at the cibola,I watched some videos on the v,seemed tricky to ground balance, but seems to have a following of great reports. The outlaw looks great too, just so many to choose from, tesoros.I do want a small coil, big coils are not for me.I'll have about 400 to spend.I hunt common areas, old properties, sports fields, woods, anywhere I can.Depth is ok around 6 inches, deeper is ok.any suggestions.

the vaquero is the first detector i ever touched. it is so easy to ground balance. i can't see how people have a hard time doing it. as long as you can read and follow basic instructions. there are youtube vids on how to do it. the vaquero would be better for your ground with the balance on it. really, the manual GB is so easy to do. it really, really, is.

nothing wrong with Cibola has done me good easy ground though.

always find myself using the Outlaw or Vaquero with small coils so I can tune them in nice its easy to do with a bit of practice but sometimes the Cibola works better being a bit de tuned if hunting coins doesn't hit on small foil etc. , if I had to chose one and I don't it would be hard but the Outlaw would be my choice I think

If you like smaller coils and are hunting for jewelry as well as coins then get the Vaquero. I have hunted many areas within the coal region and the Vaquero with the 5.75" concentric coil will not disappoint. Nothing wrong with the Outlaw but for going with the smaller coil the Vaquero is great. The Outlaw with the 8" coil works good as well, the depth is limited with the 5.75"
