what readings someone may be getting in this soil as far as mineralization goes. I do not have an MXT but maybe next year. I have a Garrett 1000 right now and am curious on any readings. I`m N. of Denver. Thanks

Hey, check out "Eureka" metal detecting club in Denver, or Golden Detectors in Golden. Bill Chapman, the owner will be more than happy to help you. He's a great guy, and extremly informative. Live in Denver, I use a DFX, as well as a Silver Eagle.

Hi Bob:
Depending on where I am, my MXT readings are in the mid to high 70s typically. Up in the Black Hawk area I've had reading as high as the low 80's. Tough soil.

When I hunt out East of the Springs, I typically see the ground in the mid 70's out there for mineralization. In town it is in the mid 70's to low to mid 80's depending on what parks I hit. I do tend to see more in the mid 70's range in town. I have not had a chance to see what the "High Country" VDI's at yet. Hope this helps.

I dug a bunch of gold off a ridge a hundred yards above the creek back in the 1980's. About half way down the creek from Blackhawk and the Clear creek on the west side of the creek. Wish I was there now with a MXT

the ground was a bit rough and your numbers say it all. Have to say my Garrett does real well around here for the conditions. I did add a 10 x 14 DD coil which seems to make a big difference. Still hoping next year to get an MXT. I like the idea of having 3 detectors in one and really want to try the prospecting mode. The MXT and my GTA 1000 should make a nice pair. Thanks again and happy diggin.
