Install a basic Photo program. Then you can really adjust your photos before posting, like resize, cropping, brightness, blur and sharpen etc...

Hunting for Indian artifacts is another one of my passions. The pics are of just some of my recoveries from this springs planting along are local river. Here in Va when we find an artifact made from flint , its a real joy. Its my understanding that any flint here would have got here by trade, so that makes a flint piece that much more desirable. Thanks for asking Dave@Dixie , these things were just getting dusty.

Thanks for looking,
Dave

They are oversized and look magna-digitized. Can't tell much. Anything like Photo Shop will do. David

By the time one travels east to Knoxville, towards the coast, lithic material begins to change. Much of it is tough, course, hard to work cherts or Rhyolite (Rhyolite from NC and East coast; Material is very porous and coarse to medium grained. It is earthy in luster. Colors are light grey, green to cream colored to black. Known source is in Adams County Pennsylvania, and has been found distributed into West Virginia and Ohio. The minerals present are seen as specks in the stone are biotite micas, horneblende and muscovites, among others.) Quartz was another common stone for the manufacture of tools and projectiles. Many times when a difficult material was encountered, work was stopped after mid production. The end did not justify the effort. Interestingly enough, Middle and South Eastern TN Indians imported sea shells from the ocean to make death masks. I surmise most was obtained by travel, not trade. Prehistoric man most likely valued their own "turf" and would have defended it no different than gangs today. Slavery, death and war were well entrenched in prehistoric life. Most of your darts look to be of Atl-Atl vintage. Nice finds! Good hunting, David @ Dixie
