Anyone familiar with the Famous Trails MD 9300?:detecting:

Happened across some on ebay. It looks like a Whites Pro SL and sells for $169.00. Is Whites making these for someone else, or allowing a licensed copy?
Colored meter, 9.5 open center loop, I.D. in all metal and motion, tones, what appears to be the auto set ground balance and 12 volt slide in battery tray.
Monte, anybody?

Likely a Chinese detector !

Hello Vlad,

The Famous Trails MD 9300 is junk, Poor stability and poor performance.

I use them for modifying metal detectors, After gutting them out they make great replacements usually you can squeeze in the circuit board and use the same 12-volt battery pack off the Famous Trails MD 9300.

Here's a pic of one mod using the Famous Trails MD 9300 housing and rod setup, Came out perfect swings like a Tesoro now.
