Anyone ever run the below settings? Acts like a different machine!

I've been following most all articles on here and another Forum about V3's. Seen many programs and read many ways to tweak the v3. I've even tried Salt mode and do see some quieting down but sure do loose depth. I live in central Wisconsin and am quite sure we have a decent amount of minerals in the soil.
I have experimented more than metal detect Trying to find the right settings. I've found a couple hundred dollars in clad along with many silver coins and rings so far. So have had decent field time. I adjusted some settings last night that blew me away as far as enabling the V3 to hit deep signals and quiet it way down. Almost like a totally different detector.I am wondering if anyone else has tried the below setting roughly. If not, they should give it a try. maybe it's just me but will continue to run with these settings. I have Three coins buried in my yard. Far away from my test bed. #1= 25 cent at 10 inches. #2= 25 cent at 8.5 inches and a dime at 8 inches. All around noisy ground full of metal. By my small transformer. Normally I have to crank the settings up to pick these up but get so much interference it drives me crazy! If I turn RX down to 7 and Disc. down to 70 then I pass the targets by. Same at allot of parks. Seems foolish to turn settings way down due to feedback and falsing.
Settings are below that I tried last night.
RX= 10
Metal= 70
Disc=85
Under discrimination
VDI select by/Level= OFF
Tone I.D= -95 to -90 @ 50. Then others to suite your needs. This lets you know you have wrap around when you hit a high 94 or 95 that usually is a false signal
Run filter at 5 khz high with Three Frequencies and recovery at 45. Or whatever settings here
Next is the reason for the big change. I know most run with threshold on but it blew me away when I set everything below as stated. I hope I didn't forget anything.
Under Audio/ Search Audio
Discrimination is highlighted ON
Threshold= OFF:|
Tone I.D = On
Modulation = ON AT "0". If any higher then it's noisy.
These setting quieted the machine down unreal. Also I hit the Three targets on the 1st swing with no false signals at all. The deep targets give a faint tone but it is definite and easy to distinguish. Gone are all the chirps and waving over potential targets every few feet and realize nothing is there when the machine is turned up.
This may just be me but Threshold off and Modulation on with it at 0 really seems to work good.
If there is any suggestions or maybe allot of people are running these two settings this way.

All of my good deep finds have come from very conservative settings. I usually run Rx between 6 and 10 and disc around 70 to 85. A Rx of 11 and disc at 85 got me a 8+" seated dime and that was with the 5.3 coil my recovery was at 100 it gave a perfect soft high tone and the 2.5 and 7.5 were dominate in pinpoint . Less is definitely more for this machine.

Todd, From your settings you must have a V3 not a V3i. It is going to be important for guys to mention which detector they have when giving settings.

Settings are below that I tried last night.
RX= 10
Metal= 70
Disc=85
Nothing special here, how high can you go on RX or Disc before it gets noisy?

Modulation = ON AT "0". If any higher then it's noisy.
You are running modulation has high as it will go. 0 is highest, 5 is lowest. This is not so for the V3i. I don't run modulation, just because I don't see why I would want to make my deep targets quieter.

Run filter at 5 khz high with Three Frequencies and recovery at 45.
If you are looking for quiet have you tried 5 band? Have you tried a higher recovery? Unless the targets are close higher recovery should help.

Are you saying that with all your settings the same, with threshold off you hear the targets and with threshold on you don't? I wouldn't think the threshold and modulation would make that much difference. Threshold versus not threshold, threshold gets the edge on depth. Rob

Depends on conditions. Open field, cranked. Trash 4 and 70
Modulation = ON AT "0". If any higher then it's noisy.

I thought the same with modulation. never realized how much it quiets the falsing down at 0. For some reason you need threshold off though I believe. Which also helps " And goes against what is being told"
Run filter at 5 khz high with Three Frequencies and recovery at 45.

I've tried all bands. All work good but you do loose depth with higher ones.

A person would just have to try it. Hard to explain by typing. maybe I'll make a vid. best thing to do is try turning threshold off and run Modulation maxed out at 0. Go over a known deep target near trash and see the difference it makes with the machine cranked up.

You found what works for you and that's all that is important.

Thanks for the post, Todd.

These settings are kicking butt.
Went out today and found the below.
Very quiet detector this way.
Glad I dug the deep Zinc. Turned out to be a 18k gold ring at 7 inches.

A short test in my fairly noisy garden seems to show that these settings quiet my machine about as much as putting it in salt mode or correlate mode, but doesn't lose anywhere near as much depth. My deepest coin is a quarter at 7-8 inches, but I could peg it pretty easy with my 6x10 coil.

Hi: Newcomer to the forum.Am a new owner of the V3i and find many of the suggestions on the programming for the md to achieve quieter,deeper,etc,somewhat confusing,and often conflicting.Realizing the obvious that ground cond.differ from one hunt to another,I cant figure out if I'm on the same page as the author of many of the posts.Is the md a V3,an upgraded v3,or the V3i,????I come away feeling that probably trial and error will be the answer,just looking for a leg up on this very technical md.Any suggestions for this newcomer would be appreciated........Thanks Jack
