Thanks alot for your reply Stan. I purchased my GT from Jeff at Kelly Co. and he is a older guy and has been extremly helpful to me. I havent even recieved the detector yet, they are sending it to me 3 day air so I have it in time. I will be reading the instruction manuel on the plane. I was originally planning on taking my 1265x, but I want to hunt in the wet sand. So I have been doing alot of research, and I decided on the GT, mostly because since I live in Michigan, I will rarely make it to the ocean. I want to go back and hunt all the old parks and other places I used to go to with my 65x and 6000 di pro. I was really big into it during the 80's, and didnt do to much during the 90's except upnorth in lakes. I know a private lake upnorth where my aunts relatives have a place, I can go in the summer, I have been in this one area that is accessible only by boat, across the lake next to the state land, alot of people tie off their boats and hang out, I have had my 65x in there atleast three times and all I find is coins, no-silver, and lots of pull tabs, and not one gold ring. I also go pretty deep, up to my upper thighs. Now obviously if I am finding pulltabs my disc. isnt set too high, so there must be rings there. There is this one spot, everytime I go there that has nothing but bullets 38 cal.. I stopped counting at around 3 dozen, and there is still more. Some hunter must have dropped a big box of them there a long time ago. My aunts relatives have never seen anyone there with a detector either. I cant wait to take the GT back there this summer. In its day alot of people claimed the 65x was one of the deepest detectors, I have found some fairly deep coins at 7 inches. How much deeper will the GT go , in your opinion? I realize we are talking about 20 yrs difference in technology. I am going be on the beach as much as possible with this thing because once I get back home, thats kind of it, because of the wether, unless after it snows I will go to the local snow hill and find new coins. Thanks, Aaron
