Anyone ever buy from Beach Camera?

They have a good deal on a camera I'm wanting but have never bought from them. Bizrate gives them a good rating but I thought I'd ask.

I've bought a lot of stuff from them with no problems. Just make sure and do it over the web, they don't have anyone in their store that speaks much English.

I've tried calling but can't get in touch with anyone in sales. Check out these links and see if you see the same thing I do. The first link is a Minolta Maxxum 7d body only for $899 after rebate:

The second link is the same camera with a Minolta lens for $872.

Does this make any sense to you? It doesn't to me. I'm afraid to order the body with lens kit as I don't think the price can be right. Have you seen anything like this before?

I think you need to work on your math a little Dude! The body only link you posted is $1,099 -$200= $899. The body plus lens link you posted is $1,199-$200=$999. So the body plus lens is $100 more expensive. Seems about right to me. I posted a link below that has the camera plus lens for about $10 less than Beach Camera. Also, the lens is only $90 if purchased separately so buying it in the kit doesn't appear to be a big savings. Usually the kit lenses are low end, general purpose lenses. Good to get you started but you'll grow out of it pretty quick.

Here is the camera kit:

Here is just the lens:

Also you can see the price here:

So the body & lens kit is 20+ bucks less than the body only. Pretty funny eh?

I ordered it tonight. The lens isn't a big seller for me but it was cheaper with it Gee, I hope I made the right decision :D. I do have some Minolta lenses from my Minolta SLR film camera so that was one of the factors in making this choice. Looks to be a pretty decent cam.
